In Reception we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which consists of seven areas of learning. The learning is built around the children’s ideas and interests to ensure maximum engagement in all activities. The day in Reception consists of a mixture of teacher initiated and child initiated activities. We promote independence and help develop children’s confidence so that they are able to select and use the resources in the environment independently. We teach daily mathematics; literacy and phonics lessons which are planned to meet the needs of individuals ensuring all abilities are catered for.
