Over the summer, the school had notification that we have been successful in securing significant funding for an international School Exchange Partnership. Last academic year, we worked with four primary schools ( in Italy, Portugal, Spain and Greece ) to put together a funding bid for £32,358 2019-21 via ERASMUS.
The two year project involves Year 5 pupils and their teachers visiting schools in Italy, Portugal, Spain and Greece. The purpose of the school exchange project is to encourage our children to explore and embrace Europe’s rich and diverse cultural heritage and develop their cultural understanding.
The children will have the opportunity to meet children from these countries and engage in a wide range of learning activities together. The funding covers all costs including travel, accommodation etc.
The proposed dates of the visits are:
- PORTUGAL – February 2020 (4 children and 2 adults per country) 5 days
- GREECE – May 2020 (4 children and 2 adults per country ) 5 days
- ITALY – November 2020 (4 children and 2 adults per country) 5 days
- SPAIN – February 2021 (4 children and 2 adults per country ) 5 days
- ENGLAND – April 2021 (4 children and 2 adults per country ) 5 days
Three teachers from the school will be attending an international meeting the plan the project in Italy in November.
