Eatock Primary School Direct

Our vision at Eatock is to ensure that every child in our school leads a happy, successful and purposeful life. Our curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of all our children to ensure they acquire the necessary personal and academic skills that will be needed throughout their lives; this is to ensure they become well-rounded people who aim to be better than their best.

Our School Direct programme is designed to be bespoke to each individual trainee and their teacher training journey. All trainees within the Eatock Primary Cluster are given the opportunity to attend excellent CPD and observe good and outstanding teaching. Our aim is to ensure each trainee reaches their potential as a teacher. We are committed to supporting your teaching career from the outset as a trainee and as a qualified teacher, as we work in collaboration with a wide range of primary schools and deliver outstanding training.

Our partnership is made up of a wide variety of schools, including both faith and non-faith schools. Currently, there are 9 schools in our partnership, which are based within Bolton and Wigan areas. We currently have THREE OUTSTANDING schools within our partnership, demonstrating that excellence really is at the forefront of what we do. Eatock Primary School has recently been awarded the ‘Learning Outside the Classroom Gold Award’ which demonstrates our commitment to be pioneers in looking at bringing learning to life.

The School Direct programme is run in collaboration with Edge Hill University, who provide the PGCE elements to the course. Eatock has a well-established relationship with Edge Hill and also collaborates work with them on a number of projects outside of ITT.

The Eatock Primary Cluster partnership schools are focussed on providing all pupils with the opportunity to access high quality teaching and learning to help them reach their full potential. We want to be the inspiration that drives them to achieve their dreams. With this in mind, we are committed to training the next generation of outstanding teachers.

What can we offer you?

We offer our ITT trainees an outstanding School Direct programme which includes the following:

  • School-led professional learning.
  • High quality training provided by Eatock and other primary schools within the Eatock Cluster.
  • A high quality teacher training programme and support from Edge Hill.
  • Individual support and mentoring by the very best practitioners within their own school.
  • First-hand experience of Learning Outside the Classroom and how to use it to enhance teaching and learning.
