Eatock has an established and very proactive School Council. All children at Eatock are encouraged to ‘have a voice’ – after all it is their school! They are given the freedom to make decisions and are presented with a variety of opportunities which encourage them to take responsibility e.g. Lunch time Pals, Playground Pals, Reading, Writing and Computing Buddies, School Snack Shop assistants, Lunchtime School Office Cover and the older children organise clubs for the younger ones. Issues arising from the fortnightly Class Council meetings and parent and pupil suggestions are discussed by the School Council and taken to the Headteacher. Outcomes of the meetings are shared with the other children via the School Council assemblies. The School Council has an annual trip to Parliament in London. Members of the School Council also sit on all staff recruitment panels.

We like being in the School Council because we help to make decisions to make the school a better place.
